You're such a good reader! Mignon Morse, Assistant Director at the McKinney Texas Library (McKinney Public Library System). created the following slide show for the Texas Library Association in order to present the advantages of reading dog programs.
Sandra Staff-Koettner created the following PowerPoint Presentation. Her purpose was to get the school staff informed about the whole therapy dog and R.E.A.D.® program. She needed them to know that Miss Bear and her are more than a well-behaved dog with a nice lady . Sandra realizes teachers are the first people parents and patrons ask, so she wanted them to be able to speak accurately on the subject, or at least e able to send folks in the right direction.

Several people have created PowerPoint presentations in order to show others how registered therapy dogs can be used in reading programs for children.They have graciously allowed me to link to their slide shows, and I hope these will give you an idea of what you can say to convince a teacher, reading resource specialist, librarian, or school principal that it will be a win-win situation if you are allowed to bring your therapy dog to read with the children. "Literacy Magic" was presented by Janet Gastil and Anna Hartman, librarians in the Lakeside and La Mesa Branch Libraries in San Diego County, California.
