Several people have created PowerPoint presentations in order to show others how registered therapy dogs can be used in reading programs for children. They have graciously allowed me to link to their slide shows, and I hope these will give you an idea of what you can say to convince a teacher, reading resource specialist, librarian, or school principal that it will be a win-win situation if you are allowed to bring your therapy dog to read with the children.
"Literacy Magic" was presented by Janet Gastil and Anna Hartman, librarians in the Lakeside and La Mesa Branch Libraries in San Diego County, California.

If the slide shows do not automatically advance from one slide to the next, you can view the pages by pressing the Page Down key on your keyboard. Press the Esc key to exit the show.
