Spree is a 4-year-old Belgian Tervuren. Known for its elegant appearance, the breed combines good looks with intelligence, alertness, courage, and devotion to its master. The Tervuren is one of four varities of Belgian sheepdogs. Spree is a great example of her breed and actually has a job as a calendar model. She is featured in the 2008 Belgian Shepherd Dog calendar.

Spree is an amazing R.E.A.D.® dog,
always ready to offer encouragement .
Spree and her partner are Delta Society and R.E.A.D. registered teams, and they also belong to the National Capital Therapy Dogs. Since 2004 they have been visiting Faith Baptist Christian School in Laurel, Maryland, where Spree listens to children read every Tuesday morning. Spree has been featured on a local TV news program. http://www.nctdinc.org/news/wjla_read.php, and in newspapers and magazines (requires most recent version of RealPlayer, free, available here).
The Belgian Tervuren is a herding breed, watchful and attentive, and zealously friendly and affectionate with those they know well. Their energetic nature functions best when given a good deal of exercise, at least a long walk or jog every day, and they do love an invigorating play session.
Lucky for Spree, she can work off her Tervuren excess energy in many ways. When not working as a therapy dog she enjoys competing in agility, and lately she has been learning canine freestyle and how to herd sheep.

Spree smiles broadly for a welcome
ear rub and chest massage.
When she's just being a dog, Spree loves to swim, chase tennis balls, catch Frisbees, and spend quality people time with special friends.
