Timmy is ready with some great books Timmy is a smart and playful Golden Retriever that loves to show off his tricks. (including paw, crawl, roll over, back up, bow, spin, sit pretty, and wave). At 10 years old, he’s still an adventurous spirit, willing to try almost anything from Easter egg hunts to geocaching! He likes the out of doors and is happy going for long walks, playing in the snow, or just relaxing in the backyard.
Timmy loves the outdoors, whether romping In addition to the R.E.A.D. programs, Timmy and Mary Beth have participated in the Dancing Paws programs put on by some of the PAWSitive Troupe members. They have performed a series of short dances at local nursing homes and libraries. Timmy is truly an all-around therapy dog. His training includes Family Dog classes, Canine Good Citizen and therapy dog training in preparation for the Delta exam, agility, and rally classes. Timmy and Mary Beth have been a Delta Pet Partners Team since 2004 and volunteer with the Pets for Vets/PAWSitive Therapy Troupe in Downers Grove. Typical of the best of his breed, Timmy is very friendly to all people and all other dogs. He seems to love his R.E.A.D.®, activities, especially when children read him stories about dogs such as those in the Biscuit series.
Everyone loves relaxing with a good story. Mary Beth says she knows Timmy enjoys being a therapy dog because his whole face lights up when she sets out their R.E.A.D. bag and his Delta vest. He knows it is time to go to work and gets very excited, prancing into the school or facility with his head and tail held high. Mary Beth truly appreciates how therapy dogs provide unconditional love and uncomplicated friendship. One of her most memorable experiences was the time a young reader threw her arms around Timmy’s neck, kissed him on top of his head, and announced, “He smells like cookies!”
