PJ is a black Labrador and Golden Retriever cross, and a very lucky one at that. He was a rescue that was taken into his forever home when he was 11 months. Shelters often have difficulty finding families for dark-coated dogs. Whether due to superstition or to visions of black hair on light-colored clothes and furniture, many of these loveable dogs miss out on good homes and happy lives. PJ is a fine example of how a rescue dog can become a perfect companion.
Two years old in this picture, PJ has been doing therapy work since 2003. The first 10 people who started the therapy group felt PJ was just perfect for the program and thought “PJ's Pals” would be the perfect name.
